Pick Up Sticks

20 pairs of HRC sticks in a home-made display case.

Everybody should have an esoteric collection.  Mine is drumsticks from the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel properties.  I already have one pair of sticks from 20 locations around the world, including London, Hong Kong and Toronto.

With this in mind, I have an opportunity on my TPA<->LAS trip to visit several Hard Rock properties and fatten up my collection.   I already have sticks from some of the venues on the route, including Tampa, Orlando, DC, Chicago, Denver and the Las Vegas Strip.

Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that there are only four Hard Rock properties on my route of over 4200 Miles, and one of them is a bit out of the way, in Myrtle Beach.

So, where will I stop to get sticks, you may ask?

I have planned-out the route on Roadtripper.com.   It include exactly 40 waypoints - the maximum allowed for one itinerary.   I'll share the details in a future post.

Three of the waypoints are HRC properties:

Myrtle Beach, SC

Baltimore, MD

Cleveland, OH

And the odd-man out:

New Buffalo, MI

I didn't realize this, but apparently most of the Hard Rock chain is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

I don't have a particular affinity for the organization, other than the fact that they are the only outlet that is global and has custom drumsticks.

In case you didn't guess, I play the drums.
